NPI ... Supporting our Providers
HSCSN/NET is committed to supplying providers with the programs, information and support needed to ensure the health and well-being of our members and the communities we serve. In preparation for the HIPAA mandated May 23, 2007 deadline, HSCSN/NET is encouraging all its providers to update their records by supplying us their NPI numbers.
Update Your Records
HSCSN/NET is in the process of collecting NPI numbers. Providers are encouraged to furnish their NPI number to us now, so we can be ready for the May 23, 2007, deadline. Any questions regarding the process to obtain your NPI number(s) may be addressed to the NPI Enumerator. The Enumerator may be reached by calling 800/456-3203, by logging onto National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES), or by e-mailing customerservice@npienumerator.com.
Reporting Your NPI to HSCSN/NET
HSCSN/NET will require NPI numbers on all electronic and paper transactions beginning May 23, 2007. Transactions include, but are not limited to:
· Electronic claims
· Electronic remittance advices
· Claim status inquiry and response
· Electronic eligibility inquiry and response
· Electronic authorization request and response
We have established a dedicated e-mail address so providers can report their NPI numbers to HSCSN/NET. Simply send the following information to NPI@hscsn.org:
· Provider name and group name
· Individual and group NPI number(s)
· HSCSN/NET current provider identification number
· Copy of your NPI Enumerator confirmation letter
