OUR HISTORY
Health Services for Children with Special Needs (HSCSN) is a subsidiary of The HSC Foundation. The mission of The HSC Foundation is to facilitate access to health care services for children and young adults with special needs and their families in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. In addition, we conduct regional and national projects with governmental, private and philanthropic organizations.
HSCSN was incorporated on February 2, 1994 to manage the care and improve access to services for children and young adults with special health care needs. It was started as a demonstration project under a DC Health Care Financing Administration 1115 waiver. HSCSN is now a ground-breaking care management network coordinating health, social and educational services for the pediatric Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and SSI-eligible populations of Washington, DC. We currently serve more than 5,100 children and young adults with special needs in the District of Columbia.
