Health Services for Children with Special Needs, Inc. (HSCSN/NET) Appoints Bruce Goldman Chief Operating Officer


WASHINGTON, DC (April 2003) - Health Services for Children with Special Needs, Inc. (HSCSN/NET) is pleased to announce the appointment of Bruce Goldman as its Chief Operating Officer.

 

Goldman comes to HSCSN/NET with 30 years of experience in the health care industry. As COO, Goldman will guide HSCSN/NET's business strategy and directs medical affairs, member services, quality management, marketing, and development.

 

His background spans multiple aspects of health care delivery systems, health care policy, and leading health organizations through change. He is the founder of The Goldman Group, Inc., a private consulting firm specializing in helping health care services and providers to better meet the needs of Medicare and Medicaid patients in urban areas. Goldman also served the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, providing leadership to bring about a major turnaround in strategic vision, service delivery, business focus, accreditation status, and morale for the 340-bed facility. His responsibilities then expanded to include oversight of a federally certified home health agency, extensive primary care network, post-hospital rehabilitation services, multiple community based sites for outpatient behavioral health and addiction services, a faculty practice plan, and a managed care product, in addition to the hospital.

 

Bruce Goldman has worked with multiple university hospitals in areas of strategic planning. He has also been published in the Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved and is a member of the American Hospital Association, American Public Health Association, National Association of Health Services Executives, United Hospital Fund Health Policy Forum, and Hermann Biggs Society. He is also the co-founder of Washington, DC's Center for Youth Services.

 

Goldman received a Master's Degree in Public Health from Yale University School
of Medicine. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Lincoln University.

 

Health Services for Children with Special Needs, Inc. (HSCSN/NET), is an innovative care management organization that coordinates health, social and education services for the pediatric Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and SSI-eligible populations in Washington, DC.
